We Made It!!!

We put 111% effort into preparing for this move. We did our best and we executed. It was really hard packing our stuff from our old house. At the beginning it seemed like, “It’ll be easy, we don’t have that much stuff.” But I learned there was more than I thought. Now at times I rather over-exaggerate than underestimate 😆

I had to be very thoughtful about what to let go of and what to keep.

Everything I let go of went into the trash, shredder, or donation pile.

Whatever I kept was either going to take up space in our storage unit or in my luggage.

We finally finished emptying the old house, packed our bags, and stayed at my parents’ house for a couple nights. Our family had a “Bon Voyage” party to send us off in good spirits and I had a really amazing time with everyone. My heart felt so full and I felt so much support from family.

Then, my parents took Mark and I to the airport. (Can you guess my favorite color? 🤗)

Hello, Colombia 😍

Our friends [who are also travelers] lived in Colombia for some time. They had a lot of good things to say about it so with that evidence, Mark and I decided to try this country out first.

Plus, we wanted to start off closer to home. Asia, for example, felt too far starting off. Colombia is not super far from California.

Finally, the time difference between Colombia and California is only 2 hours. This felt like a safe-enough shift in terms of circadian rhythm and routine. It’s also more manageable to communicate with family with this time difference.

We boarded the plane, flew for 7 hours, made a stop at the Panama airport, and finally made it to Medellín, Colombia. Our first house in Sabaneta warmly welcomed us 🤍.

Money Talks 💸

We are investors and we run an online business. In both avenues, we generate money in USD. The currency in Colombia is COP (Colombian pesos). The exchange rate for USD to COP is high. In other words, our money goes such a long way in Colombia.

I’m soooooo grateful and proud of us for how far we’ve come. I remember in the old days we were stirring about perfecting our dynamic, seeking different ways to generate income, and having to hunker down in a house with roommates.

Today, we are financially independent— having time freedom and location freedom. All of our efforts go into our empire, and our empire only. And every move my husband and I make is complimentary to each other.

Financial freedom, we’re coming for you next 😘.

I am eternally grateful that you are here. I love you. I believe in you. Feel free to keep tagging along on this journey of Life with me. I hope you are continuously inspired by what’s possible.

Love, Jessa 🤍

For you to read out loud:

My dreams matter and they get to come true because

my happiness is for the good of all humanity.

I see what’s possible for others.

I know my heart’s intentions.

And so I am worthy of every good thing happening for me.
